Why read Matcha & Moi?
Every morning around 6:30am, I whisk a cup of matcha to enjoy. It gets my gears working and let’s me do some caffeinated thinking minus the coffee jitters.
This newsletter is about encouraging thought on often overlooked parts of our lives.
As a naturally curious person who loves to learn about how the world works, it’s hard for me to tell you exactly what kinds of topics to expect. However, you can look forward to reading a deep dive on one of the following series every month:
From the Kitchen: recipe testing & ingredient exploration, with a dash of food history sprinkled in
Answers questions on your mind like What should I make for a dinner party?
And questions that you may have never thought about: Why don’t we have chocolate houses anymore? or What should I keep in my salt collection?
Trivial Pursuits: deep dives into hobbies from around the world that may seem trivial to one person but meaningful and fulfilling to another
Answers questions on your mind like How should I spend my free time, besides eating out or shopping?
And questions that you may have never given thought to: How do I get into…classical music or backpacking or stock investing?
Morning Pages: links to interesting articles, books, academic journals, or other media that I’ve been consuming and thinking about (usually in the morning with my matcha, hence the name!)
Cheers to caffeinated thinking.
My job is to raise questions we’re not always thinking about, and together we can build an ongoing dialogue centered around our complex culture as humans. Or perhaps, you’re just here to curb your coffee addiction. Either way, you can send thoughts and musings to me via email (matchaandmoi@gmail.com) or via Instagram.
Cheers,
Kelly
